Montessori Educational Center has a rich history in Central Louisiana. Since opening its doors to six primary-aged children in 1978, the school has continued to add capacity and currently enrolls nearly 200 children, ranging in age from toddlers to middle schoolers. Several years ago the Montessori Board of Directors committed to a capital campaign to support the need for additional space for our growing student population. In January 2017 a new 5,000 square foot building was opened to accommodate upper elementary and middle school classrooms. An additional parking area was added as well.
A donation to MEC directly supports the school. We use donations to buy new Montessori materials for the classrooms, cover field trips, enroll in additional training for our teachers, and more!
